Blood Money (The Daughter of a Drunk Book 3)

I've left previous reviews. The only addiction I now have is to this series. Looking forward to the final volume.

I’ve been following The Daughter of a Drunk series from the start, and going into Blood Money, I knew it was going to be heavy, but I wasn’t prepared for how deeply it would hit. I have watched people fight addiction, and Olivia struggle felt painfully familiar. I loved how Olivia doesn’t suddenly turn into a superhero. She uses what she know, and turn the tables. I look forward to next series.

This is a great story that a lot of people can relate to. Alcoholics come from all walks of life, whether you're a construction worker, teacher, or corporate executive. The book really helps you understand what life is like for people struggling with alcohol. I think what makes this book so powerful is how honest and raw it is. It doesn't sugarcoat anything, but it also shows that recovery is possible. You get a real sense of the daily battles these people face and how alcoholism affects not just them but everyone around them. Definitely worth reading if you want to understand addiction better.

It’s not my usual way to read a series beginning with the third installment without knowledge of the preceding books, but this didn’t affect me one way or the other. What drew me to this novel is psychology rather than plot - this is where my experience remained. The novel is all about restraint and planning as well as the price of remaining sober and on track when everyone else is going crazy. The decisions that Olivia makes seem to carry an air of deliberation and just reward rather than over-the-top plot point. Fans of psychological intrigue and the consequences that come with it will probably really appreciate this novel.

This story is intense, emotional, and deeply gripping from the first page to the last. The characters feel raw and real, and the tension never lets go. A haunting, satisfying conclusion that stays with you long after finishing.
