In what order should I read your books?
If you want hope and practical insight through gripping stories:
Start with The Double Life of a High-Functioning Alcoholic (Dave's story—the executive hiding behind success) then From Wine Mom to Sober Mom (Emily's story—the mother choosing between wine and her children). Both pack recovery wisdom into page-turning narratives you won't want to put down.
If you want an epic five-book journey:
Start with The Daughter of a Drunk series in order:
- Never Like My Father - Six-year-old Olivia makes a bathroom-floor promise
- Exactly Like My Father - She breaks it
- Blood Money - She gets sober and discovers the truth
- Where Leo Died - She faces an impossible choice

Can I start with Book 3 or 5 in The Daughter of a Drunk series?

Why aren't some books available in ebook and Audiobook formats on this website?
Some of my books are currently enrolled in Amazon's Kindle Unlimited program (KDP Select), which requires a 90-day exclusive contract with Amazon. This means I can't sell those ebooks directly from my website until the contract expires.
Good news: All remaining exclusivity contracts end in April 2026. After that, every ebook will be available for direct purchase here. No more waiting, no subscriptions required, just instant delivery to any device you own.
In the meantime: You can still find those titles on Amazon Kindle or through Kindle Unlimited if you're a subscriber.
What about audiobooks?
I'm still evaluating the best timing and platform for direct audiobook sales. For now, you'll find Audible links directly on the website for every book that has an audio version. Click through to listen on Audible while I work on bringing audiobooks to direct sales soon.

How long does shipping take?
Print books are made-to-order just for you! Please allow:
- 3-5 business days for printing
- 5-10 business days for shipping within the US
Total delivery time: approximately 2-3 weeks from order date. Worth the wait for a beautiful paperback you can hold.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, all direct sales (ebooks, audiobooks, and print books) are available to US customers only due to the complexity of international taxes, VAT, and customs duties.
International readers: You can find all my books on major retailers like Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play, Kobo, and Audible. These platforms handle international delivery, taxes, and currency conversion automatically so you can start reading immediately no matter where you are.

Can I get free shipping?
Yes! Orders $30 and above automatically qualify for free shipping at checkout within the United States.
Orders under $30 have a flat $7 shipping fee.

Returns and Refunds
Can I return or get a refund on ebooks and audiobooks?
Digital purchases are final. Once an ebook or audiobook is delivered through BookFunnel, it's downloaded to your device—and there's no technical way to retrieve or "return" digital files once they're in your library. This is why all digital sales are non-refundable.
However: If you experience a genuine technical issue that prevents you from accessing your book (broken download link, corrupted file, delivery failure), click "Need Help" on your BookFunnel download page or email help@bookfunnel.com. Real humans respond fast (usually within hours) and walk you through every step until your book is on your device.
Can I return a print book?
We don't accept "change of mind" returns on paperbacks because each book is printed specially for you. Once it's made, we can't resell it.
However: If your book arrives damaged, misprinted, or defective, email a photo to info@authorhowardkane.com and we'll send a free replacement right away.
Bottom line: We stand behind the quality of everything we sell. If something's genuinely wrong, we'll fix it. But if you simply change your mind after downloading or receiving your order, we can't process returns.
