122 days sober. Four months pregnant. One name that changes everything.

Olivia Parker wakes up every morning, choosing not to drink. Every night, she feels the baby fighting. Alive despite the vodka and despite being conceived in violence.

Then Detective Smith calls with the DNA results. The man who raped her isn't nameless anymore.

Tyler Carrington. Billionaire's son. Her worst nightmare with a name.

Olivia could stay quiet. Keep her head down. Raise the baby in safety.
But she failed to save Leo. She won't fail again.

So she does what she's always done when the world falls apart: she studies. Not to escape. Not to prove she's better than her father.
To find his weakness.

Her McKinsey skills haven't vanished. And when she discovers what he's hiding, she faces a choice that will either give the baby a future or cost Olivia everything she's fought to rebuild.

The compass has been spinning for years.
Now the needle's steady. Now she knows which way to go.

Only addicted to Kane's books

I've left previous reviews. The only addiction I now have is to this series. Looking forward to the final volume.

nice series, really interesting

I’ve been following The Daughter of a Drunk series from the start, and going into Blood Money, I knew it was going to be heavy, but I wasn’t prepared for how deeply it would hit. I have watched people fight addiction, and Olivia struggle felt painfully familiar. I loved how Olivia doesn’t suddenly turn into a superhero. She uses what she know, and turn the tables. I look forward to next series.

A study in Restraint and Consequence

It’s not my usual way to read a series beginning with the third installment without knowledge of the preceding books, but this didn’t affect me one way or the other. What drew me to this novel is psychology rather than plot - this is where my experience remained. The novel is all about restraint and planning as well as the price of remaining sober and on track when everyone else is going crazy. The decisions that Olivia makes seem to carry an air of deliberation and just reward rather than over-the-top plot point. Fans of psychological intrigue and the consequences that come with it will probably really appreciate this novel.

Great Story About Problems Many People Faced

This is a great story that a lot of people can relate to. Alcoholics come from all walks of life, whether you're a construction worker, teacher, or corporate executive. The book really helps you understand what life is like for people struggling with alcohol. I think what makes this book so powerful is how honest and raw it is. It doesn't sugarcoat anything, but it also shows that recovery is possible. You get a real sense of the daily battles these people face and how alcoholism affects not just them but everyone around them. Definitely worth reading if you want to understand addiction better.

A page turner, but nothing groundbreaking

A heartbreaking fast paced story about a woman who experienced something deeply traumatic, only to have this event change the course of her entire life from dealing with criminal CEOs (one of whom assaulted her), news agencies writing false stories about her, and getting de-platformed because of accusations. It was a roller coaster of a story that kept me flipping the pages, however I give it 4 stars because it’s definitely AI written.

Sweet payback

This book was fantastic. Olivia picked herself up out of the gutter and found her footing. I love a good payback and she set one in motion.

Amazing book that delivers the goods

This book is a gripping psychological thriller that pulls you in from the first page and doesn’t let go. Olivia is a deeply compelling character, strong in quiet, realistic ways, and her inner struggle is just as tense as the external danger she faces. The themes of survival, power, and control are handled with care, showing the long-term impact of trauma without sensationalizing it.The pacing is sharp, the emotional stakes feel real, and the psychological tension builds steadily throughout. What stood out most was the balance between intelligence and vulnerability, and how every decision carries consequences. Dark, thought-provoking, and emotionally charged, this story stays with you long after you finish reading.

Gripping story

I really like the idea behind this book. It’s raw and honest And so beautifully written and Olivia’s voice pulls you in right away. Some parts are really heavy and they feel real. It’s a gripping story about survival, family, and growing up in chaos. Definitely one that will stay with me.

It's a captivating and emotional ride

This is an emotional story that shows some people choose not to follow in their parents' footsteps, while others unfortunately fall victim to the allure of escape from reality through substance use. The author is honest from the beginning, and it's that honesty that draws you in from the first page and keeps your attention.

engaging

This book tells the true story of someone who grew up with addiction in the family and wanted things to change. The writer shares memories of good moments and hard ones, showing what it was really like. What makes this story special is how she keeps trying to do better, even when things aren’t easy.
